International Chinese Lab Celebrates the 100th Edition of Weekly Chinese Contest


As pioneer in innovative Chinese teaching, International Chinese Lab (ICL) considers its mission to help students enjoy learning Chinese across the globe. The 100th Edition of Weekly Chinese Contest marks a new beginning of ICL Weekly Chinese Contest, with the added sponsorship from Confucius Institute at Emory University. Creative Montessori School at Marietta, GA, celebrates this cultural event by announcing its partnership with International Chinese Lab School to form a East Cobb Campus of ICL, starting Spring, 2009. Joining the celebration are Association of Chinese Professionals-Atlanta (ACP) and Association of Atlanta Chinese IT Professionals (ACIT).

Atlanta, GA (ICL) October 25, 2008 – International Chinese Lab (ICL) today celebrates the 100th Edition of online Weekly Chinese Contest in its Norcross Campus.

Today marks the 100th edition and nearly 2 year anniversary of Weekly Chinese Contest. Ever since Nov. 2006, International Chinese Lab has run Weekly Chinese Contests and published winners’ list both online at http://ichineselab.com and in Duowei Times every week. About a thousand users from all over the world have participated in the contests.

International Chinese Lab is proud of its efforts in promoting Chinese language and culture all over the world through world wide web. Their web site, http://www.iChineselab.com, is considered one of the best web sites of its kind by sources such as yahoo answers.

“We are glad to sponsor Weekly Chinese Contest run by International Chinese Lab in its effort to promote Chinese language and culture, ” said Dr. Rong Cai, Director of Confucious Institute and Associate Professor at Emory University, “We all know that it is challenging to teach Chinese here in the States, and it is our responsibility to create an environment so students can have more fun learning Chinese.”

The press conference and Chinese learning seminar about Weekly Chinese Contest and ways to promote Chinese language and culture was held at International Chinese Lab School’s Norcross Campus on October 25, 2008. Students, families, and friends attended the event, which provided them a great opportunity to learn about Chinese learning activities in the Greater Atlanta Area.

The event includes a presentation on how to participate in the ICL Weekly Chinese Contest, a discussion on how to get involved in this effort, as well as a seminar on how to learn Chinese in the United States and North America.
